ps: after what intake did to stewbot's and now beatfreak's names, i might wanna give the photographer's notes a little look-see before i let them get away from me. of course, no one ever gets my name wrong; it's about as simple as they come.
had my first day at the new job today. i didn't fuck a single thing up! i even found something my boss was looking for (but i'll bet it came across like i put it in the wrong place and then pretended to find it).
i was thinking this job wasn't really going to live up to the title of office manager at all, but now i'm not so sure. no, i won't be in charge of any other employees. (thank god!) however, it's me that has to file all the documents, improve the systems for filing/organizing and enter all the data. so, when someone can't find something or when an invoice doesn't get paid because i mistyped a number, that'll be my fault.
also, since they didn't really bother to interview me before they hired me, my managers seem to be under the mistaken impression that i've done all this shit before at martin marietta. truth be told, i filed things about once a week and dealt with purchase orders for about 40 minutes one day. whatever, though, it's their fault they didn't look into this shit. it's not like i can't handle it.
so, while it's hard to learn a lot of new things and new people in one day, things aren't too difficult at the moment. unfortunately, work hasn't really started yet on the project(super 70). things are really going to get hectic in a month or so.
anyway, it's literati time. i just want to say that everything about the new job is great except for the cleaning crew and also the creep who totally hit on my the second we met and then came back a minute later that he thinks the word "harassment" get's thrown around too much these days.
