now, ladies, are you listenin'?

i'm fairly certain that all the girls i know are hip to this, but--just in case--please let me remind you all that you need to be getting annual pap smears and pelvic exams. i had abnormal cells in my smear this year. left untreated (or, worse, unknown) these could have developed into cancerous cells within just one year. i could have had cancer before i was even 25 years old!

and, while you're getting everything checked out, it's the perfect opportunity to hook it up on the birth control front. responsible sex is so in this year. shotgun weddings are totally over.

my doctor seemed concerned with my recent weight loss, but i'm all to happy to hear the question, "are you losing weight?" from people i'd have never imagined noticed my physique. who knew ten pounds would make such a difference?

well, i've got about another 48 hours off, so i'm going to get out and enjoy them.

Re: good point!
the pill suck.. i have a theory they are the worst form of birth control considering that i know 5 ppl who have gotten pregnant while being on the pill.. and if you forget one day you can be fucked...
im on the shot.. and its wonderful only having your period once every 3 monthes.. and knowing that you are practically infertile... im all about not getting pregnant.. and i think the shot is soooo much better.. and you dont have to remember anything except your appt 4 times a year... and your annual exam..
just thought i would throw that out there...
but if you want to get pregnant anytime soon.. aka: within the next 2 years.. its not good for that.. bc once you are on it for a year it may take at least a year or longer to get pregnant.. but i hope most of us arent trying for that!

Re: good point!
i'm all about the IUD, as it is the most effective form of birth control and uses no hormones and i don't have to worry about it for another 4 or 5 years...

but the main gist of this was meant to be yes, girls, check yo'selves. guys, too. it's one of those things, like wearing sunscreen or not drunk driving, that you don't realize is really important until it's too late. so, yeah.

I second that IUD thing, but mine lasts for 10-14 years. Not sure what the difference would be there. I got pregnant on the shot which is supposed to be the best DRUG contraceptive on the market or was then. eh...
