well hell

i was telling thur today about my dad's new job and it occurred to me for the first time that this new job means relocating.

apparently, they put money down on a house just today.

they'll be gone in a month or so.

i'm not going to lie. this news is practically devastating to me.

:(
I'm sorry.
I know that your schedule is super-busy right now with school and work, so I hope that once you're done with school (which is right about the time that the 'rents are moving, I think, unless you're taking summer classes, too) you'll be able to see them more often. Not being able to see parents is rough.

Re: :(
Well, hell...
If I lived even a tiny bit closer than they will, I'd be like,"Hey, come see Eli and I and we'll try and keep you happy," but the fact is that I live a lot farther.
I hope that you'll be able to stay happy. Like I said before, it sucks not having your parents somewhat readily available. I lived without my mom for about a year when I was 7 and I had a really bad time, even though I was still with family, and I was young.
There are many people that love you very much who are available to talk to whenever you need to, and many people who are available to spend time with you whenever you need to, so please keep that in mind.
If all else fails, call them often to talk. That should help a little. And, as you know, your friends are always here to talk to.

Transition
Hopefully, your dad will enjoy his new job and get some fulfillment out of it. What will he be doing? I'm sure you'll see them regularly, it will just take a bit more effort. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
